Depuis le blocage du projet Galt de Junex, appel\u00e9 aussi commun\u00e9ment Junexit, et la cr\u00e9ation du camp de soutien devenu depuis le Camp de la rivi\u00e8re, une relation de lutte s\u2019est \u00e9tablie entre opposition aux hydrocarbures et affirmation de la souverainet\u00e9 de la gouvernance traditionnelle mi\u2019kmaq. D\u00e8s l\u2019apparition du blocage et du Camp, le chef traditionnel Gary Metallic s\u2019est affirm\u00e9 haut et fort en faveur de cette r\u00e9sistance et a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 son opposition aux diff\u00e9rents forages d\u2019hydrocarbures en Gasp\u00e9sie, partie de Gespegawagi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samedi le 10 f\u00e9vrier 2018, Gary Metallic prononcera une conf\u00e9rence \u00e0 soi-disant \u00abMontr\u00e9al\u00bb sur la souverainet\u00e9 mi\u2019kmaq et la lutte contre les hydrocarbures. Il parlera \u00e9galement de comment renforcir nos solidarit\u00e9s actives.<\/p>\n

Il est \u00e0 noter que l’Achoppe sera un espace sobre pour la dur\u00e9e de l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/p>\n

Please join us Saturday February 10th at l\u2019Achoppe (1800 L\u00e9tourneux), for a public talk with Gary Metallic, traditional chief of the 7th district tribal council of Gaspegawagi, on the topics of Mi\u2019kmaq sovereignty and resistance against fossil fuel extraction projects.<\/p>\n

This talk will cover the “Junexit” movement, including the River Camp, part of the resistance against the current and future oil extraction projects in Gasp\u00e9sie. The blockade against Junex and the occupation of the territory of their Galt project have not only demonstrated concrete opposition to these destructive projects, but were also demonstrations of support of Mi’kmaq sovereignty. Chief Gary Metallic states, loud and clear, that this resistance is in keeping with his strong opposition to the various fossil fuel drilling projects in Gespegawagi.<\/p>\n

So please join Gary Metallic this Saturday, February 10 in so called Montr\u00e9al as he discusses the fight against fossil fuels and how to strengthen our efforts of solidarity.<\/p>\n

L’Achoppe will be a sober space for that event.<\/p>\n
